Tim Knowles / CEO

Since assuming the role of chief executive officer of StorTech in August 2003, Tim has been responsible for the company's strategic direction, growth, partnership agreements and customer service strategy. Tim brings many years of experience to the company's business having worked at IBM, Persetel, Business Connexion and Dimension Data. After successfully growing and managing PQ Networks' business for several years, Tim joined Dimension Data – another large, pan-African systems integrator – as its commercial director; he also assumed responsibility for the company's outsourcing business until mid-2003.

Chris Volschenk / Chief Financial Officer

Chris has gained extensive experience in financial management, IT, mergers & acquisitions, strategic planning and as CEO of a communications company. He holds a B.Com (Hons) and is a qualified chartered accountant CA (SA). After completing his articles at Coopers & Lybrand (now PWC), Chris has held numerous positions in the IT and Telecommunications industry including head of Mergers & Acquisitions at Telkom, alternate director to the Board of Vodacom Group from 2000 until 2006, CEO of Swiftnet (better known as Fastnet), and director of Telkom Directory Services. In April 2006 Chris was appointed as Group Executive in Vodacom and was responsible for various functions including Business Development, Group Strategy and CFO of Vodacom Business. After the acquisition of StorTech in February 2009, Chris was seconded from Vodacom and appointed as CFO at StorTech. Chris also serves as a director on the Boards of WBS Holdings and X-Link.

Zappi von Plato / Chief Technology Officer

Zappi has been entrenched in the IT world for over 39 years, starting at ICL. He gained experience in operations, programming, sales and general management, won various international sales awards and established some of ICL's biggest clients in South Africa.

Zappi joined Siltek as sales and marketing director, was later appointed regional Telecoms CEO and was responsible for the successful building of most of the TDM/Frame Relay/ATM Wide Area Networks (WANS) in South Africa. Zappi joined StorTech as head of sales in 2004, responsible to drive the sales force to become a successful and dynamic professional team in the Information Lifecycle Storage space. Zappi has since taken on the role of Chief Technology Officer and is driving the solutions development and thought leadership initiatives for StorTech.

Jurg Human / Chief Services Officer

Appointed as the Chief Services Officer, Jurg is responsible for the Services Division within StorTech.

With his wealth of over 20 years spanning General & Operational Management, Business Strategy, Marketing & Sales, Outsourcing, Service Delivery Management, Program & Project Management, he has been tasked to develop and expand the existing StorTech Services Division - in line with market demand and customer requirements. This entails the end-to –end Operations of the company, world class Service Delivery, Managed & Professional services as Strategic focus areas

Jurg has held numerous positions in the IT Sector - including the roles of Senior Contract Director, National Services & Operations Manager and Program Manager at Dimension Data and Divisional Manager at Comparex Holdings(BCX) responsible for Mid-range ERP.  Prior to joining StorTech, he was the Managing Director of a Strategic Human Capital Risk Management company.

He holds a Masters Degree in Business Management from Rand Afrikaans University (UJ)
