StorTech / Vodacom were recognised as Cisco’s Data Centre Partner of the Year for 2011 for Africa at Cisco’s One Africa Partner Summit held in Cape Town from 21 to 23 June 2011.

This prestigious award was given in recognition of StorTech selling the first VBlock solution in Africa, as well as numerous Cisco data centre solutions, including UCS, Nexus and MDS.

StorTech / Vodacom beat the likes of Dimention Data and Business Connexion.  “This is a tremendous achievement considering that StorTech / Vodacom only received our official Cisco Gold Partner status in May 2011,” said Brian Tarr, Executive StorTech.  “The combination of StorTech’s data centre experience and capability, together with our recently established Cisco competency, has culminated in this early recognition from Cisco and we are confident of growing this partnership into the future.”

The Cisco One Africa Partner Summit was attended by 28 different Cisco partners from throughout Africa and was hosted by Pim Versteeg, Cisco’s Vice President of Emerging Markets Central and Milo Schacher, Cisco’s Vice President of the Emerging Markets Partner Organisation.
